The Northan Hub project is the largest transport project in the north of England and is part of Network Rails £1bn+ rail upgrade plan.

The Northern Hub project aim is to improve and increase train services via direct links between Manchesters Three mainline stations and a new direct link to Manchester Airport, by means of a new rail viaduct, which in turn will link to new development sites for Offices, Homes, and Hotels in Manchester city centre. The planned regeneration of Manchester has already had large levels of investment and combined with the travel links will really open up the centre of Manchester to move investments and projects.

We were asked by the Northern Hub Alliance to be part of this redevelopment plan by supplying and laying two mixes of Resin Bound Paving to run next to the viaduct, which also includes entrances to step areas and ramp ways. The mixes we were asked to lay were Tuscan Barley Butter which is a dark red mix with tones of gold and yellow, and Bronze which is more browns and greens, these were then used in conjunction with traditional concrete slab paving.

This SureSet product provides a durable, accessible and low maintenance surface that needs little care, just regular sweeping and the occasional power wash to keeping it look and bright and fresh.
