Project Background
April Cottage, a picturesque countryside home in Wiltshire, required an attractive yet practical outdoor solution to connect the front of the property to a newly envisioned patio area at the rear. The homeowners wanted a seamless pathway that not only complemented the traditional aesthetic of their home but also supported sustainable water drainage and provided a safe, low-maintenance space for them and their beloved dog.
Solution
The SureSet Legacy Team was brought in to install a fully permeable surface that met SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) regulations. To achieve this, a 52mm thick SureCell base was laid, ensuring robust structural support and optimal water infiltration.
Over the SureCell base, the team applied SureSet’s high-quality resin bound surfacing using Barley Butter, a warm-toned 6mm natural aggregate. This finish was chosen for its natural look, durability, and compatibility with the cottage’s rustic charm.
The pathway was designed to sweep gracefully around the side of the property, creating a continuous and inviting flow from the front garden to a spacious patio area at the rear. The smooth, joint-free surface ensures both aesthetic appeal and functionality, ideal for outdoor gatherings, everyday use, and pet-friendly activity.
Outcome
The completed pathway and patio transformed the outdoor space at April Cottage, delivering a durable, low-maintenance, and fully SuDS-compliant solution.
