Overview

SureSet Resin was proud to collaborate with Rocon Contractors Ltd to deliver a stunning resin bound paving installation at Park View, located on the bustling High Street in Alton. This project required a refined approach to bring both functionality and artistic flair to a compact yet prominent 37m² outdoor space at the specialist support centre for adults with complex needs.

Objectives

The brief called for an outdoor bowling area that was a durable, low-maintenance surface that could withstand daily foot traffic and bowls while also providing a visually striking feature at the heart of their social courtyard. Working closely with the client, SureSet proposed a tailored design using a carefully selected palette of colours from our high-quality resin bound range.

Materials & Design

To achieve a truly unique and eye-catching finish, we used the following materials:

• Gunmetal Grey – 29m²
  Serving as the dominant colour, Gunmetal Grey provided a sleek, modern base tone. Incorporated within this area were two precision-laid lines of Traffic Black totalling no more than 0.5m². These subtle lines added depth and contrast without overpowering the overall aesthetic.
• Traffic Red – 4.3m²
  Strategically used to highlight key zones, the vibrant Traffic Red injected a bold splash of colour, guiding visual attention and adding an active appeal.
• Chalk White – 2.6m²
  This crisp, clean shade was used to create contrast and detail, offering visual relief and enhancing the clarity of the design.
• Ultramarine Blue – 0.81m²
  A small but striking element, Ultramarine Blue was introduced for a final flourish of creativity, elevating the overall design with a touch of the unexpected.

Challenges & Solutions

The limited area meant every square metre had to be purposeful in both form and function. Working to a lawn bowls pattern designed within such a confined space demanded precision planning and on-site adaptability. Our experienced installation team ensured perfect execution, paying close attention to edge detailing and seamless colour transitions.

Outcome

The result is a stunning resin bound surface that provides an activity for the adults to enjoy while delivering long-lasting performance. Park View now boasts a contemporary outdoor courtyard area featuring a resin bound bowls area that is not only practical and permeable but also artistically designed to stand out.
