1. Surface Preparation: The existing patio surface was thoroughly cleaned, compacted, and levelled to ensure a new 25mm depth of loose gravel would sit level. The timber framed edging surround was thoroughly protected.

Application: Ensuring they had a dry day, and the loose gravel wasn’t damp, the SureSet gravel binder was poured onto the chosen gravel and spread evenly over the prepared surface using a specialised application bar which was attached to a watering can, this helps to give even coverage of resin.

4. Curing: Once the first coat was applied, the resin binder was left to semi-cure, forming a tacky bond with the gravel and the underlying surface. The following day they poured their second coat, which is required for a home’s patio or pathway. The curing process typically takes 12-24 hours, after which the patio becomes ready for use.

5. Finishing Touches: Upon completion of the curing process, any gravel that appeared to be missed (duller in colour) the clients simply went over these areas with our smaller 1kg PourOn bottle by drilling some holes in the lid to allow for a more direct, controlled pour.
