While lots of children, parents and teachers have been enjoying the long summer break our Installation Team have been out and about laying new school paving.
August is always our busiest time when it comes to educational projects and this year was no exception – here are just a few SureSet school paving installations completed this year…
This brand new school is the result of two primary schools merging together. They form the primary aspect of an exciting new provision in North Wales that caters for children from the beginning to the end of their educational journey.
We laid a 329m² Sterling pathway around the school with two contrasting feature Barley Beach circles.
You will find St Andrew’s Primary School in the centre of the picturesque village of Buckland Monachorum, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.
93m² of Bronze SureSet, complete with our sub-base SureCell, creates a fully permeable pathway.
Construction began in January 2015 on a new 135,000m² City Campus right in the heart of Sunderland. The new £29m building will house a training restaurant, bakery, travel agency, spa and salons, CAD and CNC engineering workshops, motor vehicle and construction trades workshops.
We installed a 105m² pedestrian area and cycle rack in Chocolate.
The school, which is situated on two sites, was expanded to provide additional places and new facilities that include: classrooms, a studio and food technology area, and additional study rooms.
We laid a 35m² Norwegian Pearl footpath and a 163m² Sterling courtyard area including cycle racks.
Bilton Grange is a co-educational day and boarding prep-school for pupils aged three to fourteen. It opened in 1873 and moved to its current location, in Dunchurch village, in 1887.
A project to redesign the car park saw 1105m² of Autumn Tan laid to the pedestrian area and pathways and 864m² Barley Beach to the car park/access road.
The landscape changed for the New Invention Infant School, which dates back to the 1909 and caters for children aged five to eleven.
We installed 7m² Norwegian Bronze as part of a multi-surface sensory pathway within a landscape design that includes trail play equipment and soft landscaping.
We replaced a 160m² Barley Beach tree pit for three mature trees which we originally installed 12 years ago (when our guarantee was for 10 years). The reason for replacement was excess movement of the trees due to being in the path of a natural wind tunnel. With the trees pruned and the SureSet replaced, the school now has the peace of mind of our 18 year guarantee.
