Business Park and Seating Area
Background
Mercury House is a modern purpose built business centre located in a prime position on the outskirts of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. Owned by Lincolnshire County Council, the building launches the new £3.3m enterprise centre and provides an ideal environment for businesses to flourish and grow.
Lincolnshire County Council took the decision to expand from their Lea Road premises to this new building at Foxby Lane Business Park. The building itself was completed to a very high standard so it was essential that they had a paved area that was just as exceptional.
Solution
Having worked with SureSet on previous projects, Lincolnshire County Council has always been very pleased with the finished projects. Working mainly with the natural aggregate range it was especially exciting to be able to recreate the logo for Mercury House exactly by using a product that is permeable and aesthetically pleasing without compromising durability. A number of different mixes were blended on site to achieve the fading that is evident on the logo, with the SureSet SureGlow (which glows in the dark) used on the tips of the crescent. The rest of the surfacing incorporates 3mm Green and 3mm Mint Green from our Spectrum range, with 6mm Sterling Silver used on the pathway.
Result
Amanda Bond from Lincolnshire County Council said: “We have always been pleased with the finished product when using SureSet. This has been especially exciting and the Mercury House logo has been reproduced to a very high standard. We are very pleased with the results and have had many positive comments from tenants of the new business centre”.
