Lauren Gardiner
Sales Supervisor
Lauren has worked for SureSet since 2005, having started out in the quarrying industry with Hanson Aggregates as a customer service agent she brings extensive knowledge on the construction industry and a lot of experience in customer services. At SureSet she has progressed from sales advisor to Sales Supervisor in a very short time.

Emma Dutton
Sales Advisor & Complaints Officer
Emma has worked for SureSet since May 2006, having started in the quarrying industry with Hanson Aggregates bringing a great knowledge of asphalt and aggregates. Emma has also worked for Rygor Commercial as a Sales Administrator and proves to be a very important asset to our team. Her appointment in August 2007 as complaints officer reflects her overall capabilities.

Emma Hassam
Sales Advisor
Emma has worked for SureSet since April 2006. She has a degree in public services and brings experience from the customer service team in Morrisons Supermarket and other retail stores. She has a great understanding of customer values and in all means of communication. Emma is rapidly learning the construction materials business and handling large and detailed enquiries.

Yvonne Philp
Sales Administrator
Yvonne started working at SureSet in May 2004 as a Sales Advisor. After a successful time in this role, helping to consistently increase sales, Yvonne left on Maternity leave towards the end of 2006. Following the arrival of her first-born Yvonne was welcomed back in 2007 in a new part time role as Sales Administrator. Her experience in SureSet sales makes her an important asset to the team.

Susan Newton
Sales Administrator
Originally brought in at the end of 2006 to cover Yvonne's maternity leave, Susan is now a permanent member of the team sharing the administrative responsibilities with Yvonne. Susan has previous experience in the industry having worked in quarry labs, handling aggregate and base materials regularly. She has since gained years of experience in customer services, so brings a wide range of skills to the job.

Accounts

Dianne Crowther
Bookkeeper
Diane started with SureSet in July 2005 and soon established herself as the anchor to the accounts team. She has all accountancy data at her fingertips and is able to provide the current financial position to both customers and suppliers alike. While completing this demanding role Diane is still attending courses to expand her capacity.

Warehouse

Andy Newton
Operations & Marketing Manager
Andy started work for SureSet in April 1997, straight out of school, making sample discs and helping in general warehouse duties. After a long spell heavily involved in job preparation in the warehouse and installation on site Andy took on the Marketing Co-ordinating. He now manages the operations of the warehouse and job preparation as well as continuing the companies marketing development and working with Jim Newton in planning our installation programme and dealing with customers on site. Andy also spends a lot of his spare time managing the SureSet Rangers football team.

Ben Shave
Materials Co-ordinator
Ben joined SureSet in September 2004, and holds the position of Materials Co-ordinator. He had previous experience in the stone industry, before taking a 5-year break to pursue other interests before joining SureSet. Ben is in charge of purchasing the resin and aggregate that makes up SureSet, as well as organising the transport, ensuring all materials reach their destination complete and on time. Ben also captains the SureSet Rangers football team.

Darren 'Tige' Ladd
Warehouse Supervisor
Darren started with SureSet in July 2007 to lead the Warehouse team. He has a hands on approach to ensuring all job preparation is completed on time and in line with the company's quality systems. Darren's personality and experience give him an intelligent, energetic and constructive approach to running the warehouse.

Chris Over
Warehouse Operative
Chris joined the company in February 2005 with 4 years warehouse experience. His primary role is batching up the resin, an accurate and vital part to the integrity of the SureSet material. Chris is always on hand to assist in all the other aspects of job preparation from the warehouse.

David Lawson
Cleaner/ Handyperson
After retiring from full-time work with the Post Office, David joined us in 2006 on a part-time basis. David looks after the offices and all cars and vans, a never-ending task but one that he has made a big impact on and his cheerful disposition makes him a pleasure to have on board.

Ray Edwards
Sample Maker
Ray also retired from full-time work to join us in 2005 part-time after a career attached to the Army. The high quality sample discs that Ray skillfully produces are invaluable and are sent out to customers to help in their selection of which SureSet product they require.

Alex Stock
Technical Controller
Alex joined the company in February 2007 from Tarmac where he spent many years running the laboratory operations and quality schemes for asphalt production units in the southwest. Alex's role at SureSet is to maintain the required standards of raw materials, mix design and installation. This released Kevin Weston to concentrate on several new developments that he has in the pipeline and Alex will be a key part in the trials and assessment of these products prior to release on projects.

Installation

Jim Newton
Operations Manager
Jim joined SureSet in April 1997 and has worked his way up the company ladder. He has been involved in all aspects of SureSet, having spent years in the warehouse preparing for jobs and as well as many years experience working on site laying the product. 5 years ago Jim took up the role of Logistics Supervisor, and built up good relationships with all aggregate suppliers and hauliers. The reigns were then handed over to Ben Shave and Jim teamed up with Andy Newton to build the Operations Department. Jim combines this with running our IT set up and simply his very presence beside an ailing computer usually seems to fix it!

Hayley Salmon
Marketing & Operations Assistant
Hayley joined SureSet in August 2005 as part of the new operations department. She is on hand to assist in the programming of projects and is the prime planner of the supply of DIY Kits. Hayley helps co-ordinate marketing, handling the budget and producing advert copy and is always available to gather new media and advertising opportunities.

Karl Drake
Installation Team Leader
A former sub-contractor, Karl was brought on board full time in autumn 2006. He has now gained over two years experience working on SureSet sites and is skilled at all aspects of site work. Karl's approach to work helps motivate the rest of the team to get the job done no matter what obstacles confront him and his attention to detail, enthusiasm and a sprinkling of humour make him an ideal man to have on your team.

Rich Legge
Site Operative
Rich is another former sub-contractor, brought on full time in autumn 2006. His main asset is his tireless work ethic and rapidly developing skills on the float. His time as a sub-contractor helped him build a knowledge of the mixing end of the job, an area often overlooked, but crucial to the durability of the product.

Daniel Heydon
Site Operative
Daniel joined SureSet in January 2007. He is a quick learner with many skills and is currently showing great promise while training on site as a raker/floater. A good all-rounder whose thoughtful approach is a big asset.

Cyril Mitchener
Installation Inspector
Cyril started as a part-time sample maker in 1998 and gradually increased his hours as he widened his range of duties from mixer maintenance, resin-blending, site mixing and now site supervision and inspection. Cyril's experience of factory machinery, construction sites and running his own business makes him an excellent all-rounder.

Scott Blaszkiw
Site Operative
Scott joined the warehouse team in September 2007 with a background in stock control at the local supermarket. He is an energetic member of the team, firmly getting to grips with the various types of aggregate. In June 2008 Scott was transferred to the installation team and is now in training to build up his skills.

Directors

Michael Newton
Managing Director
A director of SureSet since 2000, Michael has 36 years experience in technical and production aspect of quarrying and asphalt. After a spell as Operations Director, then Sales & Marketing Director Mike eventually took up the reins as Managing Director where his questioning nature and determination to succeed have helped him enormously.

Kevin Weston
Technical Director
Kevin has been a director of SureSet since 1999 and is responsible for R&D and all technical matters relating to resin bound paving and it's ingredients. Kevin is also responsible for Health & Safety and is Company Secretary and has many years technical experience in the asphalt and quarrying industry. Kevin's attention to detail and determination to not only to "get it right" but also to understand the various processes, has been instrumental in the success of SureSet.

Peter Watts
Finance Director
The idea of developing cold laid resin bound aggregate came originally from Peter who started the company in 1997. Peter oversees all financial matters within the company as well as contributing to technical issues. Peter has a technical background of 31 years in the asphalt and quarrying industry and is known for his innovative nature and ability to approach problems from completely new directions, which has helped shape the company to what it is today.
